Moje práce je „International Marketing“, což je v podstatě široký pojem a vejde se do toho spousta věcí. No, ale hlavně oslovuju firmy v Evropě, které vyrábějí či dále prodávají solární panely. Jsem tam zatím jediná cizinka, takže jsou na mě všichni hodní a docela se staraj. Kolegové jsou fakt moc sympatický a je s nima sranda. Nicméně práce, co dělám je poměrně dost repetitivní a ne vždycky úplně efektivní. Když jsem se zeptala na nějakou databázi zákazníků či CRM systém, tak mi bylo řečeno, ať si to nějak zaznamenávám, jak sama chci a že nic takovýho nevedou, a když jsem namítala, že se pak může stát, že budu oslovovat klienty, se kterými už spolupracujeme, tak mi bylo řečeno, že to tolik neva :) Ještě mi nechali projít šanony s komunikací s klienty, abych si mohla zaznamenat aspoň ty hlavní klienty. Jinak pracuju 6 dní v týdnu, což mi přijde taky trochu na hlavu, některé firmy v Indii to tak prý mají, ale zdaleka ne většina. Každopádně musím říct, že je to práce docela zajímavá a už dokonce pochopili, že jim zvládnu i docela pomoct, takže jsem si už vybojovala i určitou pozici ve firmě a dokonce mi i potvrdili i mírné zvýšení mého velmi mírného platu :) 
Minulý týden jsme byli na expozici Jito, kde vystavovali firmy lidí, kteří patří do kasty/komunity Jains (jainismus-určitá odnož hinduismu se speciálními pravidly, kasta která dělá výhradně business, kasta vyšší společnosti). Náš šéf je jeden z předních Jainů v tomto kraji, takže dělal vedoucího celé expozice. No, pro firmu neměla výstava příliš velký smysl z hlediska potenciálu prodeje na místě, ale byla to spíš marketingová akce. Pro mě to bylo zajímavé vidět a více pokecat s kolegy, ale jinak jsem tam zase byla jako bílá atrakce :)
My work
After a while of blogging silence (we had another funny episode with the company Beamtel which is providing us internet) I can tell you more. I work in the company Surana Ventures Ltd. which is making solar panels and selling solar lighting – home and street lighting (http://www.suranaventures.com/). My work is “International Marketing” which is a notion covering very broad area of activities. Mainly I approach companies in Europe which are making solar panels or they are wholesalers. So far I am the only foreigner in the company, so everybody is very nice to me and they are taking care of me. My colleagues are very nice people and we have a lot of fun together. However, my work is very repetitive and not always very efficient. I asked them if they have any kind of database of clients or CRM system and they told me that I can note this as I want and they don’t have anything like that and when I said that it can make some problems when I approach companies which are already our clients, they said it does not matter. So, they just gave me some files where was stored most of the communication with the most important clients, so I can at least note these clients. I actually work 6 days a week which I also consider a bit weird, some companies in India are having the same rules but not the majority of them. Nevertheless, I have to say that the work is interesting to me in general and they actually realized that I can really help them, so I kind of have already my position in the company, so they even agreed to increase a bit my little salary :) The last week we were at the exposition Jito for companies of people which are part of caste/community Jains (Jainism is a kind of part of Hinduism with special rules, caste which is doing mainly business, caste of higher class).
Our boss is one of the main Jains in this region, so he was the chair of this exposition. I have to say that for the company the exposition had not a big sense from the potential of sales at the place, on the other hand it was a big marketing event. For me it was interesting to see such an event, talk more with my colleagues but I was again the white attraction of the event :)
